We are currently looking for a Transmission/ Distribution Line Engineer proficient in PLS software (PLS-CADD, TOWER and POLE) and familiar with MicroStation or AutoCAD.

We are open to work with professionals across Australia, however the preference would be for somebody based in Perth or in Western Australia with a solid knowledge of the Rio Tinto, BHP, FMG and other mining companies design specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Complete powerlines design and drafting tasks
  • Assist with equipment specifications and material take offs
  • Draft technical reports and documentation. Review drawings
  • Provide technical support and guidance to client field crew
  • Coordinate with external consultants and clients

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in the design and delivery of transmission and distribution infrastructure, in particular on the Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG networks
  • Proficiency in PLS software (PLS-CADD, TOWER and POLE) and familiar with MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Technical understanding of overhead transmission line systems, structural design, and associated AS Standards
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised to meet set deadlines

We are currently looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to work on a number of projects based in our office in the Perth Metro area (East Victoria Park).

Depending on the stage of the project the role is office based with periods when the selected applicant will have to be able to work on site as required (two or three days a fortnight), or on a 2/1 roster for longer projects.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Project manager, assist with design management, procurement and other project engineering and project management support function
  • Draft and submit technical queries to the Client and provide technical support to the site construction crew
  • Monitor, prepare and control progress claims, variations, and site instructions.
  • Manage the document control for the assigned projects
  • Complete material take offs from drawings
  • Manage external design consultants
  • Request quotations, negotiate and raise purchase orders for equipment (kiosks, power transformers, poles, powerline hardware and switchgear) and subcontractors (trenching and directional drilling, cable terminations and testing, surveying)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Linesman Trade Certificate with minimum 2 or 3 years of experience
  • Experience in the delivery of transmission and distribution infrastructure, in particular on the Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG networks
  • Proficient with MS Office and familiar with CAD software
  • Technical understanding of overhead transmission and distribution line systems, structural and electrical design, and associated standards
